HAMILTON, N.Y. - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's hockey team fell in a 6-2 final score on the road to the Colgate Raiders on Friday night. With the loss, the Engineers fall to 9-20-4 overall and a 5-12-3 mark in ECAC Hockey.
The Engineers and Raiders traded goals in the first period, as
Austin Heidemann responded to Colgate's first goal with a score on the power play at the 12:16 mark. That sent the game into the first intermission knotted up at 1-1.
From that point, Colgate rattled off three unanswered goals on RPI goaltender

Jakob Lee took advantage of a Colgate miscue and scored with 14 seconds remaining in the period to cut the Raiders lead to 4-2 heading into the third period.
Colgate scored another pair in the final 20 minutes of play - with one via the power play as the Raiders cinched up the 6-2 win.
Pierson Brandon ended the game with two goals and two assists for Colgate, with Daniel Pinetta and Nick Anderson each adding a goal and an assist as well.
Watson made 29 saves in net for the Engineers while Andrew Takacs made 20 in the win for Colgate.
RPI returns to action tomorrow, March 2 at 7 p.m. when they play their regular season finale on the road at Cornell.
