Game 1
RIT jumped on the board first in the top of the first inning, as Maddy Cook dropped in a single into center field for an RBI, putting the Tigers up 1-0. It wasn't until the third inning that the Engineers were able to respond, with
Callista Adorno sending a single into center field as well to tie the game at 1-1.
Adorno then broke the tie in the bottom of the fifth inning, as she once again singled to center to give RPI the 2-1 lead.
Liv Vizzini added the big blow of the inning, sending a triple to the right field corner to score two and bump RPI's lead to 4-1.
Brooke Sroczinski pitched 5.2 innings, scattering six hits and striking out seven batters and was replaced after giving up a second run in the top of the sixth. Freshman
Ava Markert finished pu the final 1.1 innings of work, earning the save and holding the Tigers off the scoreboard.
Game 2
Alexis Cooke pitched five shutout innings allowing only three hits to the Tigers as the Engineers took care of business in the five innings. Sophomore
Evann McDowell hit a walk-off double in the bottom of the fifth, scoring two runs to secure the 8-0 win.
Sydney Speanburg collected an RBI single up the middle for the first run in the bottom of the second before
Erin Askins added an RBI double as RPI opened up a 3-0 lead.
Askins had the next big blow once again in the bottom of the fourth, a triple to the right center field gap to score another two runs before she scored on a weak ground ball of the bat of McDowell that she beat to the plate to move RPI's lead to 6-0. McDowell then delivered the big swing to the gap the following inning to end the game.
