CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's hockey team registered a 3-1 triumph at ECAC rival Harvard this evening.
Natalie Tulchinsky and
Ellie Kaiser provided one goal and one assist each and
Nina Christof registered a tally in the win for the Engineers.
After a scoreless opening 20 minutes, Christof put RPI ahead 1-0 with a power-play goal at 6:26 in the second. The one-goal advantage would carry over into the third before the Crimson equalized in the opening three minutes in the period.
The score would remain locked at 1-1 until the final six minutes of regulation when Tulchinsky deposited the game-winner for RPI using assists from
Sophie Helgeson and Kaiser. Helgeson finished the night with two assists, as she and
Georgia Bailey were credited with the help on Cristof's second-period goal.
Kaiser closed out her multi-point performance with a power-play goal that included assists from
Morgann Skoda and Tulchinsky.
RPI manufactured a 64-40 in total shots in the win, which included a 28-14 advantage in attempts on goal.
The Engineers will finish their weekend road trip with a 3:00 pm tilt at Dartmouth tomorrow afternoon.
