GENEVA, NY - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute men's soccer closed its season this afternoon with a road matchup against nationally-ranked No. 21 Hobart College, falling 6-2 at Cozzens Field in Liberty League action.
The Engineers opened the scoring in the 20th minute as
Thomas Corcoran netted his first of two goals on the day. The forward capitalized on a pass from
Sam Shmukler, putting RPI in front 1-0 early.
Hobart, however, responded with four unanswered goals to close the first half, including tallies from Brady Leitner, Noah Fischer, Steven Pickering, and Gabe Smith, sending the Statesmen into halftime with a 4-1 advantage.
The unbeaten Statesmen tacked on two more goals in the second half, Tommy Broderick scored in the 49th minute followed by a finish from Quinn Phillips 15 minutes later, to extend the lead to 6-1.
Corcoran added his second goal in the 81st minute to cap the scoring, this time unassisted, marking his second multi-goal performance of the season.
With the result, RPI finishes the 2025 season at 4-8-5 overall.
