HANOVER, N.H. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's hockey team earned a decisive 3–1 victory over Dartmouth College on this afternoon, powered by a two-goal effort from
Georgia Bailey, a multi-point night from
Nina Christof, and a strong defensive performance anchored by
Reese Keating's 28 saves.
After a scoreless opening frame that saw Keating turn aside seven shots, the Engineers broke through late in the second period on the power play. Bailey struck first at 18:23, as she deposited a rebound into the Dartmouth net for RPI's first of the game.
Early in the third, Bailey doubled RPI's lead at 8:04, finishing a feed from Christof on an even-strength rush to make it 2–0. The goal, her second of the night and fourth of the year, ultimately stood as the game-winner. Dartmouth cut the deficit to one midway through the period, however RPI quickly answered less than two minutes later courtesy of
Sophia Jones.
Jones netted her first goal of the year at 15:09 to seal the victory, firing home a point attempt off a setup from Christof and
Mia Montanari to restore the two-goal advantage. Christof finished with two assists and three blocked shots, while Montanari collected her team-leading seventh helper of the season.
Keating stood tall throughout, making 28 saves to earn her fourth win of the season. RPI's penalty kill went a perfect 5-for-5 and the power play converted once on two opportunities.
The Engineers will take the ice for the final time in 2025 tomorrow at 3:00 pm at Harvard.
