TROY, NY - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's basketball team watched Clarkson steal a 59-55 result in ECAV Arena tonight.
RPI led by 13 late in the third quarter, however the visiting Golden Knights scored 19 of the final 25 points to earn the narrow win.
Ashlyn O'Neil and
Sydney Blaney finished with 11 points each for the Engineers. Additionally,
Tyler Hormazabal contributed nine points and five rebounds and
Callie Flynn logged eight points, nine rebounds, and three blocks.
Emilia Rojik added six points and five boards and
Sophie Costello had a team-high three steals.
The Engineers shot 40 percent from the floor in the first three quarters, but only connected on 2-of-12 field goal attempts in the final 10 minutes.
Clarkson made 7 of its 14 shots in the fourth quarter, including 3-of-4 from behind the arc. Bella Doyle led all players with 18 points in the win.
The Engineers will welcome St. Lawrence to ECAV for the season finale tomorrow at 2:00 pm.
