TROY, NY - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) baseball team won its fourth game in a row with a 6-1 triumph against Williams today at Steffen Field.
Cameron Heuer threw 6.0 scoreless innings to lead RPI to the victory. Heuer punched out five and spaced out four hits across his stint.
The freshman duo of
Michael Lebenson and
Jack Mullins each went 2-for-4 with one run scored.
Ayush Krishnappa,
Kameron Levesque, and
Aidan Hicks provided one hit apiece as well.
The Engineers scored five of their six runs in the first two innings.
Krishnappa and Levesque notched RBI as part of a three-run first inning for the Engineers.
Jon Primerano also drove in in a run in the bottom of the second and
Jake Contois extended the advantage with a bases-loaded walk in the seventh.
In addition to runs by Lebenson and Mullins,
Julian Scarpa scored two times and
Aidan Hicks and
Charlie Lapp touched home one time apiece.
RPI next welcomes Keene State for a Saturday doubleheader, with first pitch set for 12:00 pm on Steffen Field.
