CANTON, NY- The #6 Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's lacrosse team fell 9-7 in the Liberty League semifinals this afternoon at #17 St. Lawrence.

The Engineers led 7-5 late in the third quarter, however the Saints netted the final four goals of the day to advance to the conference championship at RIT on Sunday.

Zach Swanson and Easton Morse led the RPI attack with two goals each.

Swanson scored the first goal of the contest before St. Lawrence recorded the next three scores.

Erik Ojert found the back of net at the end of the first and Morse pocketed the first tally of the second to level the score at 3-3.

The Saints struck twice in a seven-second span after halftime, but the Engineers would rally for four straight goals to establish a two-goal advantage late in the third.

Trailing by two, the Saints finished the day with four goals over the final 18 minutes. The hosts took the lead for good on a Bobby Wells' goal with 10:38 to play.

Morse and Cooper Manzi accounted for an assist each in the setback. Nick Biava topped the defense with two caused turnovers and Ojert and Angelo Venuto co-led the Engineers with four ground balls apiece.
