Engineers and WPI Play to Scoreless Draw in Weather-Shortened Contest

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's soccer team played to a 0-0 draw with WPI in a non-league contest on Saturday afternoon at H. Carr Field. The match was halted due to severe weather with 18:38 remaining and ultimately declared a final.

The Engineers generated several scoring opportunities throughout the match and finished with a 7-4 advantage in shots, including a 4-1 edge in shots on goal. Freshman Andy Palm and graduate student Ben Dionisio each recorded a shot on target in the first half, while Harrison Brownlow and Noah Gregory added quality chances in the second frame.

Between the pipes, junior Noah Churchill made one save for RPI to preserve the shutout.

The Engineers return to action on Wednesday evening, as RPI travels to Keene State for a 6:30 pm kickoff.
