Women's Hockey Season Concludes at Colgate

HAMILTON, N.Y. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's hockey team remained within striking distance throughout tonight ECAC Hockey Opening Round contest, receiving goals from Kyley Toye and Nina Christof, but Colgate used a decisive stretch in the second period to secure a 4–2 victory at Class of 1965 Arena.

RPI broke through first midway through the second period when Toye opened the scoring at 7:04, finishing an even-strength chance off a setup from Mia Montanari.

Colgate responded with three goals over a span of 3:42 later in the period to take control, but RPI continued to push offensively into the third.

The Engineers were rewarded late with a power-play goal at 18:38 when Christof scored with the extra attacker on the ice, finishing a feed from Bailey and Sabrina Beaudoin. Christof led all skaters with a game-high five shots on goal, while Montanari added an assist and three shots.

Reese Keating delivered another strong performance in net, stopping 41 shots and keeping RPI competitive through extended defensive-zone sequences.

Bailey and Beaudoin anchored the faceoff circle, combining for 21 wins, while Kendal Davidson led the Engineers defensively with four blocked shots.

Colgate added an insurance goal early in the third period and received scoring from four different players.

The Engineers finish the season with an overall record of 7-29.
