TROY, N.Y. — The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's lacrosse program earned multiple postseason recognitions as the Liberty League announced its annual awards today, highlighted by
Sean Smith being named First Team All-Liberty League while
Tyler Ruffini and
Ian Weihe collected Second Team honors.
Smith, a dynamic midfielder and consistent finisher, secured First Team recognition after ranking seventh in the Liberty League with 35 goals.
Ruffini earned Second Team acclaim after serving as the primary catalyst for RPI's offense, finishing fourth in the Liberty League with 32 assists while also ranking fifth in the conference with 55 points.
Weihe, a short-stick defensive midfielder, rounded out the Engineers' award winners with a Second Team selection after providing steady two-way value and high-effort disruption in the middle of the field. He finished fourth on the team with 13 caused turnovers, while also contributing seven goals on the offensive end.
