RPI SAAC MISSION STATEMENT

The RPI SAAC provides a voice for student-athletes within the RPI Community, represents the interests of student-athletes to the administration, undertakes projects that benefit all members of the community, and highlights engaged student-athletes on campus.

NCAA SAAC MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the NCAA Division III Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is to enhance the total student-athlete experience by promoting opportunity, protecting student-athlete welfare, and fostering a positive student-athlete image.  (www.ncaa.org)

III. Executive Board
  1. Selection
    1. At the end of the spring semester, individuals will be nominated into the following roles of the executive board
  2. Roles
All Executive Board Positions must be Rensselaer varsity athletes.
  • President
    • Oversees all aspects of SAAC and runs all meetings.
  •  Marketing & Promotional Coordinator
    • As the Marketing & Promotional Coordinator, the individual is responsible for promoting SAAC within Rensselaer and the greater community.
  • Events Coordinator
    • The Events Coordinator is responsible for all SAAC hosted events; they are responsible for staffing the event with the appropriate number of athletes.
  •  Community & Campus Involvement Coordinator
    • The Community & Campus Involvement Coordinator is responsible for being the liaison between SAAC and other parties for community events.
  •  Liberty League Representative
    • The Liberty League Representative serves as the point person between the Rensselaer SAAC and the Liberty League and NCAA. They are responsible for attending the SAAC Conference.
  • Fundraising Coordinator
    • The Fundraising Coordinator is responsible for all funds related to SAAC.

  • President
    • Oversees all aspects of SAAC and runs all meetings. They also serve as the point person for the SAAC Networking Fair.
  • Marketing & Promotional Coordinator   
    • As the Marketing & Promotional Coordinator, the individual is responsible for promoting SAAC within Rensselaer and the greater community. They are responsible for Game of the Week, Instagram and website promotions.
  • Events Coordinator        
    • The Events Coordinator is responsible for all SAAC hosted events including Kids’ Day and Special Olympics. They are responsible for staffing the event with the appropriate number of athletes.
  • Community & Campus Involvement Coordinator
    • The Community & Campus Involvement Coordinator is responsible for being the liaison between SAAC and other parties for community events. Events include the Blood Drive, Fresh Check Day, and weekly readers.
  • Liberty League Representative
    • The Liberty League Representative serves as the point person between the Rensselaer SAAC and the Liberty League and NCAA. They are responsible for attending the SAAC Conference, leading the Change Wars, and attendance and meeting minutes at all SAAC meetings.
  • Fundraising Coordinator
    • The Fundraising Coordinator is responsible for all funds related to SAAC. Specifically responsible for organizing the SAAC gift and events such as the Chipotle Fundraiser.

  1. Selection
    1. At the end of fall semester, the representatives of SAAC shall elect the executive board that will consist of a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Liberty League Representative(s).
  2. Roles

All Executive Board positions, as well as the Liberty League Representative, must be varsity athletes.
1. President – The President shall preside over all meetings, delegate duties, and call for a vote when warranted.
2. Vice President - The Vice President shall act as the chairperson in the absence of the President.
3. Secretary – The Secretary shall record all minutes of the committee’s meetings and is in charge of keeping track of attendance.
4. Treasurer - The Treasurer shall keep track of an annual budget, represent AC SAAC to sources of funding, and report all expenses at each meeting.
5. Liberty League Representative – The Liberty League SAAC Representatives shall attend the Liberty League SAAC Conference and serve as a liaison between the Liberty League SAAC and the RPI SAAC. When the RPI SAAC Representative is unable to attend the conference, other members of SAAC may be invited to attend as it is important for RPI to have attendance at all Liberty League SAAC meetings.
