Jeff Abdelnour joined the Rensselaer staff in 2005. He previously served as the head coach of the junior varsity squad.
Abdelnour, a 2005 graduate of Catawba College, appeared in 62 games for the Indians, which stands as the tenth most appearances in school history. A starter in 23 games, he posted a career record of 11-5 with one save in 160.2 innings pitched. Additionally, he had a 5.10 earned run average and struck out 86 career batters.
Abdelnour helped lead his team to back-to-back South Atlantic Conference titles, including his junior season when the team qualified for its first-ever NCAA Regional Tournament. One of his top seasons came in his final year, when he went 9-2 with a 3.90 ERA in 89.1 innings. He struck out 46 batters that season and had one shutout.
