Rich Wurster is in his second tenure at Rensselaer to serve as the team’s third base and bullpen coach. This is his fourth consecutive season and seventh season overall with the Red Hawks.

In his previous stint with Rensselaer, he served in various capacities, including as the third base coach.

Prior to joining RPI initially, he spent eight years as an assistant coach at Saint Rose. In addition he has worked as the head coach of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Ohio Dominion and Stony Brook. He has also been an assistant at the University of Arizona, Ohio State, and UAbany.

A former national champion speedskater, Wurster represented the United States in the 1968 Olympics as well as in two World Championships (1965, 1968).
