Sparano joined the RPI football staff in August of 2011.

A native of Colleyville, Texas, Sparano completed his career at Albany last season, having earned four letters and appearing in 40 games as an offensive lineman before graduating in May (B.S. in history). He played center and guard for two years each, including two as a starter. He was the team's captain in 2010 and voted Offensive Lineman of the Year in 2009 and 2010. The team captured two conference titles (2007 & 2008) in his tenure.

While at Grapevine High School in Texas, Sparano, whose father Tony is the head coach of the Miami Dolphins, was a captain, the team's Most Valuable Player and named All-District 5/5A as both an offensive and defensive lineman.
