Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Athletics

John Maletta is in his tenth year with the program.

This season he will return to coach the running backs and assist with the kickoff return team. He previously served as the coach for the tight ends and wide receivers as well as the offensive line coach. He has also coached the defensive backs during his tenure with the Engineers.

Maletta has also worked as an assistant football coach at the high school level. He spent two seasons with Catholic Central High School in Troy, N.Y.

Maletta’s playing days were at Louisiana State University, where he was a linebacker for the Tigers. He also played at Hudson Valley Community College, where he earned his degree.

In addition to coaching, Maletta works for the U.S. Postal Service.
