Jonathan Volpe began at RPI in 2009 and serves as the team's defensive line coach.
Volpe joined the Rensselaer staff from the University at Albany, where he was a standout defensive end. A four-year letter winner and three-year starter, he finished with 97 tackles in 39 career games. His best season came in 2007 when he started all 12 games and totaled 42 tackles, including 8.0 for lost yards (34) and 4.5 sacks (26 yards lost), for the league champion Great Danes.
A native of Reston, Va., Volpe earned a bachelor’s degree in finance & management in 2008 and a Master’s of Business Administration in 2009. A Dean’s List student, he was a league All-Academic selection each year and earned All-District honors on multiple occasions.
Prior to attending Albany, he graduated from South Lakes High School in Reston.
