Mike Roberts was added to the Rensselaer football staff in the fall of 2012.
Roberts, a native of Mt. Pleasant, Mich., has coaching experience at his alma mater, Albion College. Among his duties with the Britons was as a defensive intern, working with the strong safeties, special teams, video coordination and recruiting. He helped the team capture the 2011 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association championship. He will now coach the defensive backs for the Engineers.
He also helped Albion win a league title as a running back in 2001. A three-year letterwinner, he earned the team's Coaches Award as a senior in 2004.
