McIver joined the men's lacrosse staff at Rensselaer in 2010.
A native of Altamont, N.Y., McIver backstopped the Dolphins to back-to-back NCAA Championship appearances in 2008 & 2009. He was also a member of LeMoyne’s National Championship teams in 2006 & 2007. Playing 55 games, McIver had a 3.97 goals against average with a .672 save percentage in his career.
A two-time National All-American, McIver was the 2009 recipient of the Ensign C. Markland Kelly Jr. Award, given to the top goaltender in the nation in each Division. He was also NCAA Division II statistical champion in a number of categories as a junior and senior, including save percentage and goals against average. He continues to be the NCAA’s career leader in goals against average for Division II.
McIver, who was the only Division II player to appear on the Tewaaraton Award Watch List in 2009, was the recipient of numerous honors during his career. A captain, he was the Northeast 10 and ECAC Division II Goaltender of the Year as a senior and an All-First Team selection by both organizations. Additionally, he was the Northeast 10 Tournament Most Valuable Player and a member of the All-Tournament Team that season.
An instructor at numerous camps throughout the Capital Region, McIver most recently served as an assistant coach for the boys’ lacrosse team at Guilderland High School. He has also worked with Albany Power Lacrosse, the Section II North All-Star Team and the Shut Out Goalie Academy.
McIver graduated from LeMoyne in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
