Jamie Hazelton

Jamie Hazelton joined the RPI staff in the 2021-2022 season as a volunteer assistant coach. After two seasons with RPI as a volunteer, Hazelton joined the staff as assistant coach prior to the 2023-2024 season.

Hazelton brings a wealth of experience to RPI. Beginning her coaching career in 2014, Hazelton coached ACHA-D1 University of Colorado Buffaloes under Head Coach Kristen Sagaert (Wright), who went on to be the head coach of Team USA University Team for the 2015 University Games.

Hazelton took over as interim Head Coach and finished the season with an 8-16-1 record. After the 14’-15’ season, Sagaert (Wright) continued her career with USA Hockey where she now reigns as Manager of Player Development. Hazelton took over as the Head Coach of the University of Colorado Buffaloes in 2015 and helped lead the team to a 34-17-4 record over two years, falling in the league championship game her final season.

In 2017-18, Hazelton was named Assistant Coach of the NCAA D-3 program Gustavus Adolphus College Gusties. The Gusties finished the season with a 20-4-4 record and a trip to the National Tournament with two All-Americans. After a single season, Hazelton left Gustavus Adolphus to attend Graduate School at the University of Minnesota Twin-Cities. 

Hazelton earned a Master’s Degree in Integrative Health & Well-Being Coaching from the University of Minnesota. During her Tenure at the University of Minnesota, Hazelton continued to coach hockey on the side as the Head Coach of the University of Minnesota ACHA D-1 Women’s Ice Hockey Program. Post-Graduation, Hazelton became a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach through National Board of Health Coaches and the American Medical Association.
