BreLynn Nasypany-Cicero was named head women's soccer coach at Rensselaer in June of 2016.
In her first season with the Engineers, the Herkimer, N.Y., native helped the program reach unprecedented heights with the team advancing to the Liberty League Tournament championship game for the first time. RPI finished 14-5-1 - the third most wins in a single season - and seven student-athletes earned All-League with three garnering All-Region.
Over the next two seasons, Rensselaer won 13 games and played in the conference tournament. Six student-athletes earned All-Liberty League, including 2018 Rookie of the Year Whitney Wisnom, and three garnered All-Region.
Wisnom was an All-League First Team selection in 2019 as the Engineers won eight games with two ties on their way to playing in the conference tournament.
Nasypany-Cicero came to Troy from Mount Saint Mary College, where she was the head coach from 2014 to 2016. She led the Knights to a 15-9-2 overall record in 2016, including a 9-1-0 mark in the Skyline Conference, to earn the Coach of the Year. She also guided the team to the conference finals in 2014 and 2015, placing 23

student-athletes on the Academic Honor Roll.
Two players were named All-Region in her term, while one was the Skyline Conference Player of the Year. Twelve earned All-Conference and one was a CoSIDA Academic All-District honoree.
Before taking the head job at Mount Saint Mary, Nasypany-Cicero was an assistant at her alma mater, William Smith College, from 2011 to 2014, which included an NCAA Championship in 2013. That year, the staff earned NCAA and Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year accolades after posting a 23-1-0 record with a Liberty League Championship and six victories in the NCAA Tournament. Nasypany-Cicero was also the junior varsity head coach as well as an admissions information technology coordinator.
A four-year standout, Nasypany-Cicero scored 53 goals and added 32 assists for 138 points in 85 career games. She was All-Liberty League First Team all four years and was the Rookie of the Year in 2007. She was also All-State and All-Region Second Team that season.
Nasypany-Cicero was an NSCAA All-America First Team honoree as well ECAC Player of the Year in 2008 and 2010 and the Stephanie Christie Award recipient and Liberty League Player of the Year in 2008. She was United Soccer Coaches All-Region First Team three times and ECAC Upstate All-Star First Team three times.
A 2011 graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and a minor in child advocacy, Nasypany-Cicero earned her Master's from the United States Sports Academy in sports science.
She currently resides in Troy with her wife Christie and her son, Shay.
