The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) department of athletics added Kaitlin Veigl in October 2022, and has been appointed to that role via the Rensselaer Union and more specifically the Mueller Center. She will work directly with members of 12 of the 23 intercollegiate teams, in addition to her responsibilities serving the Institute at the Mueller Center.

A Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Veigl is responsible for writing and implementing appropriate programs for a variety of women's and men's sports, while also assisting with several others. She also assists with scheduling and managing the facilities, maintaining the equipment, and guiding student employees.

Before joining Rensselaer's staff, Veigl held internships at the College of the Holy Cross, where she worked in the sports performance program and assisted college and high school athletes. She also spent an academic year as a graduate assistant at Springfield College working as the lead with five specific teams and assisting others. Not only did she write, implement and direct training sessions, she utilized various technological programs in an effort to measure progress and assess fatigue. Additionally, she helped develop and organize an exercise library that increased efficiencies.

Veigl spent the summer of 2021 in Del Mar, Calif., where she was an intern at WAVE Agility and Strength working primarily with volleyball players of all ages. That followed a stint as an intern at Springfield in the spring of 2021.

Veigl earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from SUNY Cortland and her Master of Science in Strength and Conditioning from Springfield.
