Four Tabbed with Year-End League Baseball Honors

TROY, N.Y. - The Liberty League announced its year-end honors in baseball and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) saw four student-athletes named to this year's teams. Patrick Reardon and Camden Mamigonian garnered All-League First Team recognition, while Mike Cieszko and Andrew Mondo were Honorable Mentions.

A senior captain out of Troy, N.Y., Reardon started all 40 games this season, with a team-best .385 batting average on 52 hits in 135 at bats. A catcher, he led the team with 14 doubles and seven home runs, while also adding a triple for 89 total bases. Reardon boasted a slugging percentage of .659 and an on-base percentage of .517. The LaSalle Institute graduate also scored 52 runs with 32 RBI and had nine stolen bases.

Reardon led the Liberty League in home runs, doubles, walks and slugging percentage. Nationally he ranks sixth in walks (37) and 17th in walks per game (0.94). A Liberty League Performer of the Week selection this season, Reardon has now earned All-League recognition in each of his four seasons, including three straight First Team honors.

Mamigonian, a senior out of Dover, N.H., batted .378 with 33 runs and a team-best 36 runs batted in. A leftfielder, he was the team leader in a number of categories, including hits (56), triples (2), home runs (7), RBI, total bases (92) and stolen bases (10). Mamigonian was also second on the squad in at-bats (148), doubles (11) and slugging percentage (.622).

A graduate of Dover High School, he led the conference in home runs and total bases (92), while ranking eighth nationally in sacrifice flies (7). This is the second straight First Team honor for the Mamigonian, who is also a three-time Academic All-District First Team selection and an Academic All-American.

A junior hurler from Stevenson Ranch, Calif., Cieszko posted a record of 5-2 in 2010 with a 1.07 earned run average in 14 appearances. The team leader in ERA, wins and appearances, he was also tops on the squad in complete games (4), shutouts (3) and opponent batting average against (.204). The William S. Hart High School graduate also ranks fourth nationally in earned run average and was the Liberty League leader in shutouts.

Mondo, a senior pitcher out of Clifton Park, N.Y., posted a 5-2 record and a 2.17 earned run average in 10 games this season. The Liberty League leader in games started (10) and strikeouts (61), he pitched 66.1 innings, allowing 16 earned runs and a .243 opposition batting average. The Shenendehowa High School graduate, who tied the school record for career victories (25) on April 24 in a 10-1 win over Vassar, was also a two-time Liberty League Pitcher of the Week this season.

The baseball team, which is led by head coach Karl Steffen, concluded its season with a 24-16 overall record, including a 13-11 mark in the Liberty League.
