Three Earn All-Region From Baseball

Seniors Reardon and Mamigonian named to First Team

TROY, N.Y. – The ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Teams were announced in baseball and three Rensselaer student-athletes have been recognized. Patrick Reardon and Camden Mamigonian were named to the First Team, while Mike Cieszko earned Third Team recognition.

A senior catcher and captain from Troy, N.Y., Reardon started all 40 games this season, compiling a team-best .385 batting average (52 for 135). He led the team with 22 extra-base hits, including a team-high 14 doubles, a triple and a club-best seven home runs. Reardon boasted a slugging percentage of .659 and an on-base percentage of .517. The LaSalle Institute graduate also scored 52 runs, with 32 runs batted in and nine stolen bases.

Reardon led the Liberty League in home runs, doubles, walks and slugging percentage. Nationally he ranks seventh in walks (37) and 15th in walks per game (0.93). A Liberty League Performer of the Week selection this season, Reardon has now earned All-League recognition in each of his four seasons, including three straight First Team honors.

Mamigonian, a senior out of Dover, N.H., batted .378 (56 for 148) with 33 runs and a team-best 36 runs batted in. The team leader in a number of categories, including hits, triples (2), home runs (7), RBI, total bases (92) and stolen bases (10), he was also second on the squad in at-bats, doubles (11) and slugging percentage (.622).

A graduate of Dover High School, Mamigonian led the conference in home runs and total bases (92), while ranking eighth nationally in sacrifice flies (7). A two-time All-Liberty League First Team honoree, he is also a three-time Academic All-District First Team selection and an Academic All-American.

A junior righthander from Stevenson Ranch, Calif., Cieszko went 5-2 with a 1.07 earned run average in 14 appearances this season. The team leader in ERA, wins and appearances, he was also tops on the squad in complete games (4), shutouts (3) and opponent batting average (.204).

The former William S. Hart High School standout is second nationally in earned run average and was the Liberty League leader in shutouts.

The baseball team concluded its season with a 24-16 overall record, including a 13-11 mark in Liberty League play.
