The Rensselaer Athletic teams kick-off the 2010-11 campaign this week, as four teams are in action, beginning with the women's soccer on the road on Wednesday night. The Engineers then host their home opener on Sunday at East Campus Stadium. The men's soccer team, which made its second straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament last season, opens on the road in the Union College Classic, while the field hockey and golf teams return to competition as well.
WOMEN'S SOCCER
RPI starts its season on Wednesday when it heads Castleton State for a 7pm match. The Engineers open at home on Sunday, hosting Wellesley in the East Campus Stadium (12pm). Live stats will be available at

MEN'S SOCCER
The Engineers open on Friday, participating in the Union Soccer Classic in Schenectady. RPI battles Worcester State at 6pm, following the Dutchmen and Cazenovia's 3:30pm contest. Saturday pits the Engineers against Cazenovia (3:30pm), followed by Union and Worcester State (6pm).
FIELD HOCKEY
The field hockey team opens its season on the road this weekend at William Paterson and Montclair State on Saturday (1pm) and Sunday (1pm), respectively. Live stats for Saturday's game can be found at

GOLF
The golf team begins play on Saturday at the two-day Hamilton Quadrangular. Day one will be held at the Lafayette Hills Country Club in Jamesville, N.Y., while Sunday will be at the Skenandoa Club in Clinton, N.Y. Action will begin at 1pm both days.
SPORT ALMANACS
The 2010-11 season marks the debut of the RPI Athletics Almanacs, a comprehensive look at the rosters, stats and histories of many of the department's varsity programs. To date, there are eight almanacs available, including men's soccer, field hockey, men's and women's hockey, women's basketball, men's lacrosse, baseball and softball.
