TROY, N.Y. - As Rensselaer continues to prepare for its bicentennial in 2024 by investing in people, programs, platforms and partnerships, the athletics department has set its sights on renovating what was once a jewel of the Northeast: The Robison Athletic field, home to our baseball team.
From 1987 to 2016, the baseball team has had a winning record every year – 29 times – including at least 20 victories in 27 seasons. With Rensselaer for over 30 years, Coach
Karl Steffen has a record boasting more than 800 victories, in addition to coaching hundreds of All-League student-athletes.
"My brother John and I are pleased to partner with RPI on the Alden Baseball Challenge. The RPI baseball teams have been among the Liberty League leaders for many years now, and John and I feel they deserve a facility to match. We hope this challenge will encourage alumni and friends to contribute, and to join us in helping make it a reality," said James Alden '58.
Join with the Alden brothers and contribute to this challenge in support of the current and future players who stand to benefit from an exceptional experience, on the diamond and beyond.
