ONEONTA, N.Y. - Lauren Ploof scored two goals, both set up by Marisa Struen, and the Hartwick women's soccer team defeated Rensselaer, 3-1, in a non-league game. The homestanding Hawks move their record to 4-8-2, while RPI falls to 6-7-0.

Briana Bet (Whitehall, PA/Allentown Central Catholic) put the visitors ahead just 3:52 into the contest on a
shot from the left side of the goal. For Bet, who scored unassisted, the goal was her fifth of the season.
Hartwick stormed back and tied the game on Ploof's first goal, which came from near the 18 at the 7:25 mark. Brittany Pine put the home team ahead 12 minutes later when her shot could not be handled by the keeper and found its way into the net.
Ploof's second goal, which came on a breakaway just after RPI's Judy Kastner (West Islip, NY/West Islip) was denied on the other end of the field, sealed Hartwick's victory. Ploof, a junior, now has a team-high eight goals on the season.
Hawks goalkeeper Ashley Taylor made 10 saves for the win, while RPI's Meghan White (Kingston, NY/Kingston) stopped four shots.
