ITHACA, N.Y. - Rensselaer junior Aimee Catroppa (Scotia, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) won two events but it wasn't enough as both the men's and women's swimming and diving teams fell to Ithaca on Saturday.  The Red Hawks' men were edged, 131-112, while the women lost 145-93.

The reigning Liberty League Swimmer of the Week, Catroppa continued her outstanding individual efforts this week with wins in the 200-butterfly (2:15.63) and the 200-breaststroke (2:32.73).

On the men's side, RPI saw senior diver Matthew Culen (Pelham, NY/Pelham Memorial) continue his success on the season with wins in both the 1-meter (244.50 points) and 3-meter (251.70 points) events.  Freshman Alex Rohr (Rexford, NY/Niskayuna) won the 200-breast (2:20.13) while sophomore Julian Schott (New Canaan, CT/New Canaan) finished second in the 50-freestyle (23.07) and the 100-free (50.04).

He also swam the anchor leg of the 400-medley relay team, which was victorious with a time of 3:44.04.  Brandon McDowell, Michael Suarez and Brian Roth were the other three members of the winning relay.

Both teams return to action next Sunday when they host Hartwick at Robison Pool.  Action begins at 1pm.
