Hawks men and women capture a dual meet sweep over RPI

TROY, N.Y. – Led by winning efforts from several swimmers the Hartwick College men's and women's swimming & diving teams defeated Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in dual meet action on Sunday. The Hawks' men defeated the RPI, 139-104, while Hartwick's women posted a 160-82 victory.

Senior Kevin Milkovich (Newburgh, NY/Newburgh Free Academy) was the top individual finisher for the Hartwick men, capturing a victory in the 500-freestyle (4:58.01), the 200-individual medley (2:03.26) and the 1000-free (10:21.04). Four other athletes had multiple win efforts for the Hawks.

Rensselaer senior Matthew Culen (Pelham, NY/Pelham Memorial) had a fantastic day in the diving events, finishing first off both the 1-meter (264.90) and the 3-meter board (258.98).

On the women's side, Hartwick's Stephanie Ha (Everett, WA/Henry M. Jackson) had two individual wins and helped the 200-medley relay team to victory. Junior Meredith Eger (Littleton, CO/Hertiage) had a solid individual effort for the Rensselaer with two personal victories.

The Red Hawks are back in the pool next Saturday when they travel to Vassar in a dual meet beginning at 1pm. Hartwick returns to action on Sunday when it hosts Nazareth at 1pm.
