CLINTON, N.Y. - The Rensselaer men's lacrosse team scored six goals in the first quarter and went on to an 11-5 fourth quarter lead before holding off Hamilton, 11-8, in a Liberty League contest.  With the victory, the Red Hawks improve to 9-4 overall and 3-2 in the league and clinch a spot in the conference's post-season tournament.  The Continentals fall to 5-7 and 0-4.

Sophomore attack Devin Arnold (Buffalo, NY/Canisius) led the RPI attack with four goals and an assist.  Junior Josh Secora (Evergreen, CO/Golden) added two goals and an assist and senior PJ McComb (Newington,CT/Newington) added four assists.  Junior goaltender Ryan DeJordy finished with 15 saves, including six in the second quarter.

Arnold and Secora both tallied twice in the first quarter to help the Red Hawks build their lead.  Arnold scored the game's first goal and again with just one second left in the stanza while both of Secora's goals came on man-up situations.  McComb had three of his assists in the first.

RPI scored the first two goals of the second quarter for an 8-3 lead before Hamilton got back on the scoreboard for an 8-4 halftime score.

Arnold, with an assist from Secora, struck first in the third and fourth quarters for a 10-5 lead before teammate Alex MacDiarmid (New Hartford, NY/New Hartford) put RPI ahead 11-5.  The Continentals earned the last three goals of the game, the last with 5:50 remaining, for the final margin.

Hamilton's Marc Albu had two goals and an assist to lead the offense while Christian Kunhardt stopped 12 shots.

RPI returns to the field on Saturday against Clarkson in the regular season finale.  That game, which begins at 1pm at Harkness Field, will help determine the final seedings for the four-team Liberty League Tournament (May 2 & May 4).
