UTICA, N.Y. - Rensselaer continued its undefeated streak, rallying from a two-goal deficit at halftime, for a 4-3 win over Utica in non-conference women's soccer action this afternoon.  Led by two goals from senior Judy Kastner (West Islip, NY/West Islip), the Red Hawks are now 5-0 on the season.  The Pioneers drop to 2-2.

Utica jumped out to an early lead less than five minutes in as Danielle Smith crossed the ball to Ashley Granger for the rebound goal at 4:29.  RPI responded quickly as Alexandra Fontanetta scored just under 30 seconds later to tie things up (1-1).

Jill Benoit gave the homestanding Pioneers the lead at 9:02 when her shot beat RPI goalie Meghan White on the low left side and Smith made it a two-goal advantage after one-timing the ball off a cross from Granger.

Kastner cut the deficit to one (3-2) at 13:29 and the score remained the same until the second half when RPI tied things off on Kastner's team-leading eighth goal of the season.

The teams continued to battle until 81:55 when captain Jacquelyn Garlasco sent a lead pass to freshman Catherine Harvey, who headed the ball in past Utica goalie Monique Schneeberger for the 4-3 lead and eventual game-winner.

In goal for RPI, which held an 8-5 advantage on corner kicks, White made four saves to pick up her fourth win of the year.  Schneeberger stopped seven shots in the loss for Utica, which held a slim 13-11 lead in shots for the game.

Rensselaer returns to action next Saturday when it travels to Springfield (12pm).  Utica is at Empire 8 rival Hartwick on Wednesday (7pm).
