POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - Senior forward Elizabeth Barker scored a game-high 25 points to lead the Rensselaer women's basketball team to a 72-53 win over Vassar in a Liberty League contest.  The Red Hawks have now won six straight games to improve to 11-2 overall and 3-0 in the league.  The Brewers fall to 2-10 and 0-3.

Barker (West Suffield, CT/Cathedral), an All-League First Team selection a season ago, made seven field goals and 11 of 13 free throws for a season-high 25 points.  She also had two rebounds, two assists and a steal for RPI, which jumped out to a 9-0 lead and never trailed.

Two others reached double digits for Rensselaer.  Freshman Sarah Wetmore (Sudbury, MA/Lincoln Sudbury Regional), the reigning Liberty League Rookie of the Week, scored 16 points and senior Caitlyn Charest (Swansea, MA/LaSalle Academy) had 12 points.  They both had four steals for the visitors, who played without top scorer Whitney Coleman (Rancho Cucamonga, CA/Etiwanda).

Vassar, which was forced into 25 turnovers, saw Emily Haeuser (South Portland, ME/South Portland) score 21 points with eight rebounds.

Rensselaer returns to action on Friday when it hosts its first home league game of the season.  The Red Hawks battle St. Lawrence at 6pm at Robison Gym.
