TROY, N.Y. – Powered by multiple victories from a number of student-athletes, the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's and women's swimming & diving teams defeated Vassar College in dual meet action at Robison Pool. The Engineers' men defeated the Brewers, 184-109, while the RPI women posted a 186-114 victory.

Freshman Ben LeRose (Williamsburg, VA/Lafayette) continued his solid rookie season with victories in all three events which he was entered. He won the 200-butterfly with a time of 2:02.24, claimed victory in the 100-freestyle in a time of 49.61 and was first in the 200-individual medley with a mark of 2:02.67.

Senior Kevin Ehrlich (Manchester, CT/Manchester) also helped lead the way for the men's team, posting three victories on the afternoon. He won the 200-freestyle in a time of 1:51.03 and was first in the 500-free with a mark of 5:12.59. Additionally, he helped the 400-freestyle relay team to victory in a time of 3:23.38.

On the women's side, sophomore Carly Antonucci (Long Valley, NJ/West Morris Central) won both the 100 and 200-breaststroke with times of 1:10.07 and 2:33.63, respectively. In addition to helping the 400-medley relay team to victory in a time of 4:12.51, she also posted second in the 200-IM (2:21.17).

Senior captain Meredith Eger (Littleton, CO/Heritage), who also helped the 400-medley team to victory, picked up a pair of victories. She won the 200-backstroke in a time of 2:17.84 and captured the 200-IM in a time of 2:18.41.

Senior diver Kelsey Manley (Southbury, CT/Sacred Heart) won the 1-meter event with 231.67 points, while junior Grace Fitzgerald (Manchester, NH/Manchester) picked up the win off the 3-meter board with 210.08 points.

Rounding out the solid efforts was freshman Tina Belletete (Winchendon, MA/Gardner), who won the 1000-free (11:04.66) and the 500-free (5:24.95), while helping the 400-medley relay team to victory.

Both squads return to action on Sunday when they head to Hartwick for a 1pm dual meet against the Hawks.
