SCHENECTADY, NY – The women's soccer teams of St. John Fisher and RPI played to a 2-2 double-overtime draw at College Park located on the campus of Union College on Saturday. The contest marked the first game of the Union College Women's Soccer Showcase. The Cardinals move their record to 1-3-1, while the Engineers go to 2-1-1.

RPI grabbed an early lead with goals from freshman Shannon Maguire (Randolph, NJ) and junior Danielle Redmond (Barre, MA). Maguire riffled her fourth goal of the year from just outside the box only 4:57 into the game.

Maquire set up the Engineers second goal with a cross through the box to find Redmond who connected into the low-left third of the goal. The Marker was her second of the season and came at 25:42.

The visiting St. John Fisher responded at 26:59 when freshman Catherine Mibaum (Rochester, NY) found a streaking junior Megan Gee (Dansville, NY) deep in the box for her fourth tally of the season at 26:59.

After the break, the Cardinals pulled even when freshman Kaytlyn Perotti (Syracuse, NY) scored her first goal of the year, setup by sophomore Kaitlin Moran (Livonia, NY).

Both goalkeepers were tested throughout the contest. St. John Fisher senior Ashley Martin (Marcellus, NY) turned away 11 shots, while RPI freshman Melissa Pinsonneault (Hudson, NH) had seven saves.

RPI will face Cortland on Sunday at noon, while St. John Fisher will do battle with Union at 3 p.m. Both contests will be at College Park.
