SCHENECTADY, NY – Taylor Teal (Bethlehem, NY) scored on a header during the 81st minute to secure Cortland's 1-0 victory against RPI on Saturday at College Park on the campus of Union College. The win was the second of the weekend for the Red Dragons, making them the champions of the Union College Invitational. Cortland improves to 5-0-0 on the year, while RPI goes to 3-2-1.

Cortland controlled the play for the majority of the game, but RPI kept them at bay until the 81:07 mark. Cortland's Ashley Mewhorter (Clifton Park, NY) sent a corner kick from the left corner towards the box, finding the head of Teal for her second goal of the year.

Melissa Pinsonneault (Hudson, NH) held strong for RPI between the pipes, making three saves and her teammates helped out making a team save late in the game.

At the other end, Pam Monnier (East Northport, NY) earned her fifth win of the year by turning away two shots.

The Red Dragons held the advantage on shots (10-9) and corners (11-3).

RPI returns to action on Wednesday with a non-conference match at Middlebury (4:30pm).
