CLINTON, N.Y. – Despite a number of solid performances at this afternoon's meet, the Rensselaer men's and women's swimming & diving teams were unable to overcome a number of dominant performances by the Hamilton squads. The Continentals' men claimed a 130-102 victory, while the Hamilton women were victorious, 127-112.

Pacing Rensselaer at the meet was freshman Tina Belletete (Winchendon, MA/Gardner), who won the 500-free in a time of 5:25.60 and also claimed victory in the 1000-free with a mark of 10:58.05.

Sophomore captain Carly Antonucci (Long Valley, NJ/West Morris Central) won the 200-breast in a time of 2:35.77 and helped the 400-medley relay team to victory in a time of 4:11.58.

The other members of the relay team included Meredith Eger (Littleton, CO/Heritage), Christina Provenza (Millersville, MD/Severna Park) and Mairead Lyons (Leominster, MA/Notre Dame Academy).

On the men's side, sophomore diver Jason Rock (Peotone, IL/Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy) won the 3-meter event with a score of 228.98 points. Rookie Adam Updegrove (Carson City, NV/Carson City) picked up his first collegiate victory off the 1-meter board, winning with 244.04 points.

Freshman Ben LeRose (Williamsburg, VA/Lafayette) continued his outstanding rookie campaign, posting a victory in the 200-fly with a time of 1:59.88, while senior captain Brian Roth (Columbia, MD/Mount Saint Joseph) won the 200-back (2:02.13).

Both squads are now idle until the UNYSCSA State Championships in Syracuse, N.Y. The women kick things off on February 18-20, while the men's squad will compete from February 26-28, also in Syracuse.
