CANTON, N.Y. - Freshman Erika Gobielle scored 7:33 into overtime to lift St. Lawrence University's women's soccer team to a 2-1 win over Rensselaer at Sandy MacAllaster Field. The Saints improve to 7-2-0 overall, including a 1-1-0 mark in Liberty League play. The Engineers fall to 4-3-1 (1-1-0 Liberty).

Gobielle finished off a quick Saint upfield rush with a shot from outside the box which caught the upper right corner of the net, scoring her third goal of the year and second game-winner as the Saints improve to 7-2-0 overall and 1-1-0 in the Liberty League. Marcelle Justison started the game-winning play as she picked the ball off at midfield and sent it ahead to sophomore midfielder Alex Troli, who crossed the ball to Gobielle, who hit the shot in stride and beat RPI goalie Stephanie Vargas, who did not have a chance on the perfectly placed shot.

RPI, 4-3-1 overall and 1-1-0 in league play scored the game's first goal as sophomore Shannon Maguire took a shot at the top of the box and put it inside the left point after taking a cross from Giana Abballe 17:37 into the second half.

St. Lawrence came back to tie it at the 84:49 mark as sophomore midfielder Brooke Hessney crossed the ball for Troli, who scored her first of the year into the center of the empty net as Vargas made a late charge to try to break up the play.

Saint goalkeeper Abby van Geldern made seven saves for the win while Vargas finished with three saves for RPI. RPI outshot the Saints 18-8 overall and had two corner kicks to none for SLU.
