TROY, N.Y. – ECAC Hockey has announced its weekly men's awards and two Rensselaer student-athletes have been selected. Chase Polacek was named MLX Skates Player of the Week, while Allen York earned MLX Skates Goaltender of the Week after the pair led the 10th-ranked Engineers to their first league weekend sweep of the season. Polacek was also chosen as the INCH.com National Player of the Week.

A senior from Edina, Minn., Polacek recorded four points (3 goals, 1 assist) in the Engineers wins over Harvard (3-2) and Dartmouth (5-1) on Friday and Saturday, respectively. He netted two goals against the Crimson, including the game-winner, before picking up a goal and an assist in the victory over the Big Green - once again earning the game-winning marker.

Polacek has notched a team-best 34 points (14 goals, 20 assists) through 24 games this season, including five power-play and one short-handed tally. A former standout at the Academy of Holy Angels, he has also recorded six game-winning goals – three of which have come in the last three games.

Eighth nationally in points per game (1.42), Polacek leads the country in game-winning goals and is 16th in assists per contest (0.83). Through 12 ECAC Hockey games, he leads the league in game-winning goals (3) and is second in both points (17) and goals (7). Polacek is also third in assists (10) and power-play points (7).

York, a junior from Wetaskiwin, Alb., earned the victory in both games last week, posting a 1.51 goals against average, while stopping 54 of the 57 shots he faced for a .947 save percentage. He opened the weekend by recording a season-high 36 saves in RPI's 3-2 win over Harvard. York then stopped 18 shots in the team's 5-1 victory over Dartmouth on Saturday.

On the season, York is 14-6-3 with a 1.94 goal against average and a .927 save percentage, while starting 23 of 24 games. A former member of the Camrose Kodiaks, he has recorded one shutout, while logging 94.9% of the time between the pipes for the Engineers.

Sixth in the country in goals against average, York is also 10th in save percentage and 18th in winning percentage (.674). The starter in all 12 of the Engineer's ECAC Hockey contests so far this season, he is seventh in the league in goals against average (2.26) and ninth in save percentage (.917).
