ONEONTA, N.Y. - The Engineers shouldered a dual meet sweep on the road on Sunday as Hartwick College swam past Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in men's and women's swimming & diving action. The Hawks men posted a 147.5-93.5 win, while the Hartwick women beat the Engineers, 146-92. Both RPI squads slip to 2-2 in dual meet action this season.
Leading the way for the RPI men's team was junior Ben LeRose (Williamsburg, VA/Lafayette), who won the 100-butterfly in a time of 53.29. He also helped the 200-freestyle relay team to victory with a mark of 1:31.33. Other members of the relay team included senior Chris Hall (Villanova, PA/Friends' Central School), rookie Adam Kalish (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) and junior Dan Messmer (Medford, NJ/Shawnee).
Also finding success on the afternoon was sophomore diver Miguel Hummel (Pittsburgh, PA/Fordham Prep.), who won off the 3-meter board for the second straight day with a score of 251.95 points.
On the women's side, rookie Ellen Tomlijanovic (Scotch Plains, NJ/Mount Saint Mary Academy), who was victorious in the 100-breaststroke with a time of 1:13.24. Senior diver and captain
Anita Westbrook (Columbus, OH/Whetstone) won off the 1-meter board with a score of 194.60, while the 200-free relay team was victorious with a time of 1:48.03.

Rensselaer is now idle until December, when it hosts the Liberty League Championships at Robison Pool. Session I begins on December 2 at 4pm, while Session II will get underway at 9am on December 3. The meet will conclude with Session III, beginning at 4pm.
