TROY, N.Y. - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Insitute (RPI) men's soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to eight games (5-0-3) with a 3-0 victory over Bard College in a Liberty League match at Renwyck Field. The Engineers improve to 9-3-4 overall and 5-1-2 in the league and remain in first place. Bard is now 3-13-2 and 0-7-0.

The victory was the 100th as the head coach of RPI for Adam Clinton, who is now 100-67-28 while with the Engineers. He is in his 11th season.

The Engineers got a goal just 3:26 into the game and controlled play from there. They finished with a 34-0 advantage in shots, including 12-0 on goal, and a 20-0 edge in corner kicks.

Three different players scored for RPI. Junior Ryan Gracy (West Oneonta, NY / Oneonta) got things started when he collected a long ball from senior Zach Fane (Troy, NY / Lansingburgh) and found the back of the net. The Engineers made it a 2-0 game when senior Michael Birk (Albertson, NY / Mineola) finished a corner from the back post on a feed from sophomore Matt Koziol (Poughkeepsie, NY / Franklin D. Roosevelt) in teh 78th minute for his second goal of the season. Freshman Esmir Hadzic (Burlington, VT / Burlington) completed the scoring with a header from a Matt Carberry (Auburn, NY / Auburn) free kick in the 85th minute.

Three goalies played for Rensselaer, including sophomore Rob Dewald (Arlington, VA / Washington-Lee), who extended his personal scoreless streak to 648:16. Gabe Rudd (Amherst, MA / Amherst Regional), a freshman, made 12 saves for the Raptors. He had five saves in the first half and seven in the second.

The Engineers are right back in action on Sunday afternoon at nationally-ranked Williams College (1:30pm). Bard wraps up its season next Saturday against Liberty League foe Vassar (2pm).
