Sara Rothschild scored twice and the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's soccer team outshot Johnson and Wales University, by 22 shots in a 4-0 victory in the second round of the 2012 Rensselaer Invitational. The Engineers improve to 1-1-0, while the Wildcats fall to 0-2-0.
RPI controlled the game throughout as they held a 16-0 advantage in shots in the first half and 24-2 overall. Rensselaer had 11 corner kicks to none for the visitors.
It took the Engineers just 2:12 to find the back of the net as senior

Nikki Goodsell (Danbury, CT/Danbury).
Rothschild (Manlius, NY/Fayetteville-Manlius) followed with the next two goals for a 3-0 lead. Her first was scored in the 26th minute when she took a pass from the wing and put a shot on goal that was stopped. The ball came back to her and she put it into the left side of the goal. Rothschild's second of the game came on a breakaway up the middle at 50:15.
Sophomore
Taylor Korytko (Tampa, FL/Hamilton (AZ) finished the scoring off a rebound of a Bombardier direct kick in the 89th minute.
Deanna Amoia (Tappan, NY/Tappan Zee) had one save for RPI, while Cassie Collins (Oswego, NY/Oswego) made seven saves on the other end of the field.
The Engineers return to play on Friday at Manhattanville as part of the Valiant Classic (7pm). The Wildcats play at Capital as part of the Fort Rapids on Friday at 4pm.
