ONEONTA, N.Y. - A day after sweeping Vassar College, the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) traveled to Hartwick College, where both Engineers teams fell to the Hawks. The RPI women lost, 134-96, while the men were beaten, 139-88.

The women who were victorious for Rensselaer included Siena Sara (Queensbury, NY / Queensbury), divers Maddie Miller (Yardley, PA / Princeton Day School) and Maggie Cullather (Highland Park, IL / Highland Park) and the 200 Free relay team. Sara, a freshman, won the 200 Breaststroke with a time of 1:11.19. She also helped the Engineers capture the relay, along with Barb Long (Longs, SC / North Myrtle Beach), Ellen Tomljanovic (Scotch Plains, NJ / Mount Saint Mary Academy) and Rachel Mesibov (Tappan, NY / Tappan Zee). They touched at 1:48.53.

Miller, a sophomore, won the 1-meter competition with a score of 242.25, while Cullather, also a sophomore, earned victory off the 3-meter board with 223.58 points. Miller was second to Cullather with a 220.05.

Also noteworthy was junior Faith Breen-Franklin (Severna Park, MD / Severna Park), who placed third in both the 200 IM and the 100 back.

For Rensselaer's men's team, freshman Mark Stein (Brewster, NY / Brewster) won off of both boards, while Mike Rizzo (Scotch Plains, NJ / Scotch Plains-Fanwood) was the first to touch the wall in the 200 IM. Stein posted scores of 236.10 and 251.10 off the 1-meter and 3-meter boards, respectively. Rizzo, a junior, posted a time of 2:02.63 for his victory and he finished third in the 100 fly. 

Both teams are now idle until December 6 when the begin Liberty League Championship competition at Union College.
