ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – All five qualifying runners finished in the top 20 as the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's cross country team took second at the Liberty League Championship, hosted by Bard College. The Engineers compiled 58 points on the day, while meet-winners St. Lawrence had 27.
Junior
Jacob Andrews (New Woodstock, NY/Fabius-Pompey) led a Rensselaer trio that finished 8th, 9th and 10th. Joining him in the top 10 was sophomore
Bobby Parker (Johnston, RI/St. Raphael Academy) and senior captain
Sean Quinn (Brookline, NH/Hollis Brookline). The three recorded times of 25:44, 25:49 and 25:54 in the 8k event, respectively.
Also scoring for the Engineers was freshman
Benjamin Fazio (East Greenwich, RI/East Greenwich), who ran a 26:07 and senior
Aldous Strother (Newbury, MA/The Governor's Academy), who finished in 26:12.
The Engineers are idle next weekend, but return to action on November 16, when they take part in the NCAA Atlantic Regional (11am).
