Women's Soccer Posts 4-1 Win at Bard

How Has Rensselaer Changed Your World?

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's soccer team broke open a close game with a pair of goals five minutes apart early in the second half en route to a 4-1 victory over Bard College in a Liberty League game on Saturday afternoon. The Engineers improve to 8-4-1 overall and 3-1-0 in the Liberty League. Bard is 4-9-1 and 0-5-0.

A goal in the 28th minute by senior captain Taylor Korytko (Chandler, AZ) off a long throw-in from Bethany Hanson (Fullerton, CA) gave RPI a 1-0 lead at halftime. The Engineers outshot Bard 7-2 in the first 45 minutes and had the edge in possession.

In the second half, however, RPI dominated. The Engineers got goals from Coley Mowder (Eldersburg, MD) in the 52nd minute off a rebound, and Sam Lamorte (Pawling, NY) in the 57th minute. RPI emptied its bench after that point with Hannah Bordogna (Andover, MA) making it 4-0 in the 64th minute. Bard got on the board off a header from Avalon Qian (San Francisco, CA) in the 89th minute.

Tori Riopelle (Ashburn, VA) made one save and Alex Scholz (Kapolei, HI) stopped two shots for RPI. Kelsey O'Brien (Southampton, NJ) made five saves and Lily Harris (Charlotte, VT) made four for Bard.

Next up for RPI is a Liberty League game against RIT on Friday (4pm).
