Women's Soccer Welcomes RIT and #8 William Smith to ECAV

Engineers host Tigers on Friday (4pm) and Herons on Saturday (2pm)

LIBERTY LEAGUE HOME WEEKEND: The Engineers are home for a pair of Liberty League contests this weekend ... RPI welcomes RIT to ECAV on Friday for a 4pm kick-off, before hosting nationally eighth-ranked William Smith on Saturday at 2pm.

ENGINEERS TOP BARD: Rensselaer broke open a close game with a pair of goals five minutes apart early in the second half en route to a 4-1 victory over Bard on Saturday afternoon ... A goal in the 28th minute by senior captain Taylor Korytko off a long throw-in from Bethany Hanson gave RPI a 1-0 lead at halftime ... The Engineers outshot Bard 7-2 in the first 45 minutes and had the edge in possession ... In the second half, however, RPI dominated ... The Engineers got goals from Coley Mowder in the 52nd minute off a rebound, and Sam Lamorte in the 57th minute ... RPI emptied its bench after that point with Hannah Bordogna making it 4-0 in the 64th minute ... Bard got on the board off a header from Avalon Qian in the 89th minute ... Tori Riopelle made one save and Alex Scholz stopped two shots for RPI.

STREAK SNAPPED: The Engineers saw their six-game unbeaten streak (5-0-1) snapped last Wednesday at Union ... RPI bounced back with a victory on Saturday and has won six of its last seven.

RENSSELAER LEADERS: Sophomore Cori Winslow leads the Engineers with 10 points on four goals and two assists ... Senior captain Taylor Korytko (4 goals, 1 assist) is second with nine points, while junior Coley Mowder (3 goals) rounds out the top three scorers with six points.

IN GOAL: Freshman Tori Riopelle (8-4-1) has started all 13 games in goal for the Engineers and carries a 0.75 goals against average and an .839 save percentage ... She has seen 123 shots, including 58 on-goal and has earned three shutouts.

RPI AT HOME: The Engineers are 19-11-2 at East Campus Stadium over the last three seasons, including a 6-2-0 mark last year ... RPI has had at least five home victories in four of the last five campaigns.

SCOUTING THE HERONS: After opening the season 1-2, William Smith has won its last eight games by a combined score of 34-2 ... Union broke a string of six straight shutouts on Saturday, when the Dutchwomen fell to the Herons, 2-1, on overtime ... Senior Madeline Buckley (9 goals, 2 assists) leads the team with 20 points, while sophomore Kara Shue (3 goals, 8 assists) has 14 ... Senior Krista Longo (4 goals, 4 assists) and sophomore Brie Ruane (6 goals) are tied with 12 points apiece ... Freshman Nicole McGlinchy (8-1) has a 0.37 goals against average and an .857 save percentage as the starter in William Smith's last nine games.

NATIONALLY RANKED: Eighth-ranked William Smith is the lone Liberty League school is currently ranked in the national top 25, acording to the latest NSCAA coaches poll.
