Complete ResultsTROY, N.Y. - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) swimming & diving teams posted victories in 26 of 32 events on their way to sweeping Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in a season-opening dual meet at Robison Pool. The women won all but two events in a 185-106 win, while the men hit the wall in 12 of 16 events on their way to a 174-120 victory.For the Engineers women, freshman
Shanny Lin (El Paso, TX / El Paso) had four victories, including three individuals - all in fine fashion. In fact, she qualified for an NCAA B Cut in the 200 butterfly with a pool and school record of 2:06.36 and the 100 fly with a school record of 57.47. She also won the 200 backstroke (2:14.77) and was part of the victorious 400 medley relay team (4:08.96).

Jessica Sauve (Walpole, MA / Walpole) also enjoyed a successful collegiate debut, posting wins in the 200 free (2:03.30), the 200 breaststroke (2:36.48) and as part of the 400 IM team. Her twin sister, Danielle, won the 1000 free (11:00.12).
Michaela Yamashita (Kaneohe, HI / Maryknoll) and
Erin Kane (Laurel, MD / Archbishop Spalding), who are also both freshmen, also had multiple wins. They each swam on the 400 medley relay team with Yamashita winning the 100 backstroke (1:02.41) and Kane the 50 free (24.82).
The men's team also had student-athletes with multiple wins, led by sophomore Matt Schlehr (Maineville, OH / Kings), who won three times. Individually he was first in the 100 breaststroke (1:02.30) and 200 breaststroke (2:18.91). He also swam on the 400 medley relay team that finished first (3:40.58).
Sophomore Andrew Klobucher (Wenham, MA / Hamilton Wenham) had wins in the 200 freestyle (1:50.99) and 100 free (49.32), while A.J. Schick (Stamford, CT / Stamford) and Adam Kalish (Clifton Park, NY / Shenendehowa) won twice. Schick and Kalish swam on the 400 medley relay before winning the 50 free (22.61) and 100 fly (53.73), respectively.
The Engineers return to the pool next Saturday when they travel to Ithaca to face the Bombers (1pm).
