RPI DOWNS MAINE-FARMINGTON: Ashley Clough scored a game-high 22 points to lead Rensselaer to a 65-50 victory over Maine-Farmington in the consolation game of the Southern Maine Tip-Off Classic on Sunday afternoon ... Courtney Reynolds netted eight of her 13 points in a first half in which the Engineers opened up a 32-20 lead ... Amanda Lynch had six in the stanza ... RPI was able to force 19 first half turnovers, including 12 steals ... Rensselaer used a 13-7 run to push its lead to 45-27, five minutes into the second half ... Clough had six points during the run. A lay-up by Bailei Tetrault and a three-pointer from Ellen Boucher kept the Engineers lead at 20 points (50-30) with 12 minutes to go in the second half ... A 9-0 Maine-Farmington run made it 50-39 with 8:26 on the clock, but a jumper and a free throw from Reynolds kept the Beavers at bay ... The Engineers didn't let the lead dip below 13 points the rest of the way, en route to their first victory over the season ... Clough had eight rebounds, three assists, four blocks and five steals in 33 minutes.

EARLY LEADERS: Junior Ashley Clough leads the team in both scoring (21.5 ppg) and rebounding (9.0 rpg), while averaging 33.5 minutes per contest ... Senior captain Amanda Lynch is second at 15.0 points and 6.5 boards per game ... Classmate and fellow skipper Courtney Reynolds rounds out the top three scorers with 8.0 points per contest ... Clough also leads the club with seven assists, eight steals and five blocks.

PACING THE PIONEERS: Senior Samantha Stayer netted 19 points and hauled in seven rebounds in Utica's season-opening victory over SUNY Potsdam (65-54) ... Junior Mary Miceli netted 12 points and grabbed five boards, while graduate student Bridget Greenwald notched a double-double of 11 points and 14 rebounds ... Senior Christy Traglia scored nine points for the Pioneers.

UTICA WINS SEASON OPENER: Utica topped host SUNY Potsdam 65-54 in non-conference action Saturday afternoon ... Bridget Greenwald compiled a double-double as she pulled down a game-high 14 rebounds, including nine off the offensive glass, and added 11 points ... Samantha Stayer led all players with 19 points and added seven boards, while junior Mary Miceli added 12 points ... Utica found itself down 31-26 at the half, but the Pioneers rallied to outscore the Bears by 16 in the final 20 minutes to steal the victory ... Senior Christy Traglia chipped in with nine points on one three-pointer and going 6 for 9 from the line, while Amanda Henderson added seven points.  Calypso Carty, Ashley Mayo, and Kelcei Edmonds also put up points for Utica. 

THE CAPTAINS: Seniors Amanda Lynch, Courtney Reynolds and Bailei Tetrault will lead the Engineers on the field for the 2014-15 season.

BY POSITION: The Engineers roster consists of eight guards, six guard/forwards and three forward/centers.

BY CLASS: The team is made up of seven freshmen, one sophomore, five juniors and four seniors.
