AREA-RIVALS: Rensselaer hosts Sage College on Tuesday night (8pm) ... The Raptors, who play their home games in both Troy and Albany, are the closest rivals to the Engineers in terms of proximity. 

RENSSELAER DOWNS BERKELEY: Junior Chase Almond scored a career-high 18 points and added 11 rebounds to lead Rensselaer to an 81-61 victory over Berkeley, on November 16 at East Campus Arena ... RPI came out firing in the first half, connecting on 7 of 9 three-pointers ... The game was tightly contested in the early going, but after the visitors drew even at 17-17 with 12:27 to go in the half, the Engineers went on an 8-0 run to take a 25-17 lead ... Josh Dugas had a free throw and a three-pointer to start the scoring run ... Rensselaer pushed its advantage to 11 points on two occasions, before settling for a 40-32 lead at the break ... Almond then netted 10 of his 18 points in the second half on 4 of 8 shooting ... After a lay-up by senior Kenton Chan-Man brought Berkeley to within 47-39 with 16:46 to play, a triple and lay-in from Nate Kane and sophomore Jonathan Luster pushed the RPI lead back to 13 points (52-39) ... The Engineers were able to maintain a double-digit lead the rest of the way, thanks in part to junior Brian Hatcher who scored all 11 of his points in the second half.

GATORS FALL IN OVERTIME: Sage travelled to Manhattanville College on Saturday afternoon and faced Brooklyn College in the finals of the AJ Buchanan Classic ... The Bulldogs triumphed 94-90 in overtime ... After leading 48-39 at the break and the Bulldogs had a strong second half ... The Gators and Brooklyn were tied at 61-61 with 11:46 left to play in regulations, marking the 8th tie of the game ... Brooklyn pulled away and led by seven at 7:43, 74-67 ... Sage hung tough and McCray had some big plays and hit a three-pointer at 5:14 to pull Sage within 2 points, 74-72 ... McCray hit another clutch three with 0:43 in regulation to pull Sage within one, 79-78 before junior Melvin Ford hit the tying shot at 0:09 sending the game to overtime knotted at 80 all ... In the overtime, the Bulldogs pulled out to a seven point lead, 91-84 with 0:40 left to play ... Sage pulled back within two points, 92-90 as sophomore guard Brett Ullman hit a clutch three-pointer ... Sage fouled Jamel Gist with 0:02 left in overtime and he converted the pair of free throws leading his team to the title.

NOVEMBER 26, 2013: Sage racked up a school record 115 points in the contest en route to the 115-105 win over Rensselaer ... The Gators held a 51-41 lead at the break as junior center Jacob Sopchak led the way with 10 points off the bench as the Gators shot 53.7% (22-41) and held a 29-23 edge on the boards ... In the second half, Sage led by as many as 23 points (112-89 with 3:27) left to play before the Engineers chipped away at Sage's lead and pulled within 10 points in the final seconds of play ... Craig Fitzgerald had a team-best 20 points, a career-high and collected for 10 rebounds.

ENGINEERS LEADERS: Junior Chase Almond leads the team in scoring and rebounding at 15.5 points and 9.0 boards per contest ... Classmate Brian Hatcher is second at 10.5 points per game ... He is hauling 5.0 rebounds per contest, while also dishing out five assists and recording two blocks ... Senior captain Josh Dugas rounds out the top three scorers at 9.5 points per game ... He is shooting 36.4% from three-point territory (4 for 11) ... Sophomore Jonathan Luster (4.5 ppg) has a team-high 10 assists, while Almond has a club-best three blocked shots.

PACING THE GATORS: Senior Kai Deans leads Bard in scoring at 14.0 points per game ... He is also hauling in 6.7 rebounds per contest ... Junior Jordan McCray is netting 12.7 points per game, to go along with a team-best 4-to-1 turnover-to-assist ratio ... Classmate Andre Robinson is the only other Raptor averaging double-figures at 11.0 points per game ... He is shooting 36.4% from three-point range.
