TROY, N.Y. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's soccer team has qualified for the 2014 Liberty League Tournament as the second seed and will host third seed St. Lawrence University on Wednesday afternoon at East Campus Stadium (4pm). Top seed and eighth-ranked William Smith hosts fourth seed RIT (1:30pm).
There is no charge to attend Wednesday afternoon's game. RPI TV, a student-run club based out the Student Union, will provide live coverage, which can be seen at

Led by first-year head coach
Greg Cathell, the Engineers are 13-5-1 overall this season, finishing conference play with a 6-2 mark. RPI has an 11-2-1 record in its last 14 games, including victories in its last four. It has outscored the opposition 17-2 during the four-game winning streak.
Individually, senior captain
Taylor Korytko (Chandler, AZ/Hamilton) leads the team in scoring with nine goals and four assists for 22 points. A starter in all 19 games, she is also tops on the club in shots (59), shots on goal (29) and game-winning goals (5). Sophomore
Cori Winslow (Ballston Spa, NY/Ballston Spa) has 18 points on seven goals and four assists, while graduate student
Rachel Tietzen (Kelowna, BC/Kelowna Secondary School) rounds out the top three scorers with five goals and an assist for 11 points.
Freshman goalkeeper
Tori Riopelle (Ashburn, VA/Briar Woods) has started all 19 games and carries a 13-5-1 record. Her 0.71 goals against average currently ranks fourth in school history for a single season, while her .835 save percentage is 13th. She has 66 saves in 1747:11 minutes, while recording five shutouts.
The Engineers face a St. Lawrence team that is 12-5-1, including a 4-3-1 record in Liberty League play. The Saints have out-scored the opposition 34-15 in 18 matches this season. They are led offensively by freshman Katie Stames (Morrisville, VT/Peoples Academy), who has six goals and three assists for 15 points. Classmate Kaleigh White (Middletown, MA/Masconomet Regional), who is the sister of RPI senior captain
Kerry White (Middletown, MA/Masconomet Regional), is second with seven goals for 14 points. Junior Emily DePoy (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) rounds out the top three scorers with five goals and three assists for 13 points.
Rensselaer took home a 1-0 victory over the Saints on October 4 in Canton, N.Y. Junior
Coley Mowder (Eldersburg, MD/Liberty) netted the game's only goal in the 53rd minute, heading one home directly off a corner kick by classmate
Shelby Stromerson (Snohomish, WA/Glacier Peak). St. Lawrence out-shot the Engineers by a 12-9 margin, but shots on goal were even at 4-4. RPI drew six corners to the Saints three.
The winner of Wednesday's game will play the winner of the other semifinal between William Smith and RIT on Saturday (TBD). The Liberty League Champion will receive an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.
