CLINTON, N.Y. - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) swimming & diving teams posted 17 individuals victories and two relay wins in a dual meet at Hamilton College. RPI's men's team had 12 wins and defeated the Continentals, 196-104, while the women earned seven but fell to Hamilton, 159-131.

Among those touching the wall first was senior Nate Hosking, who won both the 1000 free (10:01.55) and 500 free (4:50.50), and junior Adam Kalish, who also won two events. He was first in the 100 fly in a time of 53.46 and the 50 fly in 24.06. Kalish also helped the 400 free relay team to victory (3:16.58). Also on the winning 400 free relay were Maruti Kolloru, AJ Schick and Andrew Klobucher. For Schick, who won the 50 free (22.56) and Klobucher, who also won the 100 free (49.61), the relay win was their second of the day.

Freshman Mark Stein won off of both diving boards, compiling 228.07 points off the 3 meter and 236.39 off the 1 meter.

Rensselaer swept the women's diving competition, with Maggie Cullather capturing the 1 meter (242.84) and Maddie Miller the 3 meter (236.55). Cullather finished second off the 3 meter (231.23), while Miller was second off the 1 meter diving board (237.89 points).

In the pool for the Engineers' women, freshman Siena Sara had two individual wins, including the 50 breaststroke in 33.02. She also won the 100 breast in a time of 1:11.82 and helped the 400 free relay to a win (3:55.90). Barb Long, who won the 500 free (5:22.48), also swam on that winning relay team, along with Monika Grinbergs and Kathleen Bolton.

RPI is now idle until February 18 when both teams compete in the New York State Championship Meet.
